This 50 ton hydraulic forging press is designed for a full production forging shop and is also a great press for the weekend blacksmith who needs more power. Bladesmiths and knife makers really like this press for forging large Damascus steel billets. The base of the press has a foot print of 36” x 28” and is made from 5/8” thick steel. No need for a foundation and with the cylinders located below the ram it has a low center of gravity. This allows for safer moving of the press compared to other presses with cylinders above the ram. It is only 65” tall and will easily pass through doorways and fit below overhead shelving.
